To knock the dust off your current sales effort, here are some easy but helpful tips to move you into a proactive selling mode:
Consider using a daily sales checklist. Make sure that you keep track of the accounts you are currently handling. With a daily sales checklist, you will have an easier time maintaining active accounts, as well as make old accounts become functional again. Also, by identifying the amount of accounts you have, you can monitor and approach the number that you can actually accomplish on a daily basis.
Schedule each day for selling. Consider setting aside a specific amount of time each day dedicated strictly to selling. Or if you are focusing on another activity, say, getting your postcard printing ready for your postcard printer, you can at least assign someone to make sure that your business is engaged in a selling activity. This way, you are not only effective in marketing your product in your postcard printing for example, but you are actually committing your company to sell your product or service.
Treat selling as something sacred. Do not ignore the importance of your selling activity. Sometimes with too much work to distract you, you often forget that you also have to sell your business as well as run it. So do not let other things become too urgent that you forget about getting profits from your products. Focus your efforts on putting your business in the market.
You actually have to set yourself up on a selling mode. To sell effectively, be in the mood to do so. Make sure you know everything there is to know about your product and service. Get energized to market your product and put yourself in a positive disposition that selling in itself becomes an enjoyable activity. The bottom line is to get yourself so into it that you will infect other people in your company with your enthusiasm.
Get everyone involved. And talking about infecting other people with your enthusiasm is sure to have everybody share your goals and objectives for the business. Everybody working together in a company will have good odds of closing enough sales to meet the goals you have set for your business. Keeping everyone informed and concerned with the business can go a long way in building an environment within your company where your staff and employees are actually energized to work to achieve your goals.

This is definitely true with your marketing campaign, be it newsletter printing, flyers printing, print brochures or print newsletters. With so many information bombarding your target clients everyday and every minute, it is no wonder that you have less than a few seconds to actually get the attention of your readers. It actually takes less than 11 seconds for you to grab their interest ad keep it. Within those seconds, you have to convince them of your value and benefits over those of your competition. Within those few seconds, you have to wow them through your newsletter printing or print newsletters for example. So you need to focus your efforts on getting those few seconds to work for you.
So how do you do it? You can start with the benefits. What is in it for them? What benefits can be derived from your business? Consider putting forward your key points. And as always, make sure that your target audience is at the center of your message in your newsletter printing. This way, you can oblige your readers to be focused on what you have to say. You have to keep them occupied with your design that they would want to stay and learn more about your offer. The bottom line is to view your marketing campaign from your target market’s point of view. The more your marketing campaign is in tune with your target market’s needs, the more you will become attractive to them.
Every web site owner surely has prepared a formula on how to do site promotion effectively on the net. They could have taken tips from books or site promotion courses. Or they could have researched on how successful web site owners have achieved success in making their web pages popular. Effectiveness of how to do site promotion could vary with the methods used or the nature of the web site itself. Some methods might work for others, while it might not work for some. Don’t expect uniform results for everyone. The results will rely greatly from the efforts that you will put in and the appropriateness of your technique to your business.
There are various techniques in promoting a site and you may choose which one you think best suits your online business. For web sites that are designed to sell a service or a product, banner advertising can be good technique for site promotion. Although banner ads have been receiving a lot of negative feedbacks, its effectiveness would still depend on how you do the advertising yourself. Banner ads are being used to invite more people to visit your page. You do not need to exaggerate on the graphics. Most internet users are not anymore attracted with flashy banners. Simplicity and conciseness are more important in creating banners.
Make sure your banners are clear, interactive, and easy to use. Unsuccessful banner ads were oftentimes a result bad advertising. So, it is quite immaterial to generalize the results of banners. Remember that successful banner ads would depend on your presentation and approach. On the other hand, online marketing experts still believe in traditionally promoting web pages through newsletters, offline advertising, or word of mouth. Thus, technical methods on the net are not the only ways to effectively promote a site since there are also limits on what the World Wide Web could do for now. Going back to the basics will harm neither you nor your online business.
It’s probably worth the try after all. Furthermore, you may use links to promote a site. Aside from the fact that by building good links you are also enhancing your search engine rankings, links can also help a lot in making the web page more popular among internet users. You have to do link exchanges with other sites that may be relevant to your own business. Then, if they permit, you can post your link address on their page and you do the same for them. This is a team effort that can greatly benefit the web sites that do this thing.
It can simply direct people who are merely surfing the net to your web page without their intention to do so. Eventually, this would create more chances for you to pitch the product or service you are selling. There are various ways to promote your web page. The techniques are somehow changed or modified as time passes by that is why it is important that you keep yourself abreast of the latest methods in promoting your web page. What could be effective now may not be effective in the days to come. Thus, keep an open mind and a flexible strategy in confronting the demands for site promotion.

Marketing or marketers are despised within some platforms and mildly tolerated within others. This means you need to be offering value with a capital "V" before you even think of directing people to your business opportunity. This is a factor that once you understand it, can literally turn your business into overdrive.
In this article we'll take a look at some of the things you should be doing as well as some of the mistakes to avoid. Just avoiding one mistake can increase you lead attraction numbers.
How To Use Social Media Marketing For MLM
The most important part of creating a successful social medial marketing plan is the provision of quality content. You might have the most complex marketing plan, but if you do not use good quality Social Media Web 2 content you are destined to fail. This is because your traffic is not consistent. People might come to you once, but will be unlikely to return in the future.
The best way of using social media networking is to enhance the quality of your profile within your target market. You can do this by keeping your submissions fresh and relevant enabling you to get the most out of advertising for your site.
Social Media Mistakes For MLM
A lot of people commit the common error of forgetting to include their website URL at the end of each submission. If people can’t find the address to your website, how can you expect them to ever find it?
It is also essential that your email list is kept up to date with any new content you publish. Social media networks are great as they allow you to keep constant communication channels open with your email list. In this particular instance there is not a problem with sending a lot of emails to your list.
This is because each email you send it simply notifying the user that you have published new content they might be interested in reading. You should also include some useful information in your emails to avoid them being classed as spam.
Social Media Optimization(SMO)
Social media networks will assist you with optimizing your site in the same way as SEO does. The term SMO or to give it its full title, social media optimization has been created to reflect how much value can be gained from using social media networks in order to increase network traffic.
Websites such as Stumbleupon, Delicious, and Digg are resources that can also help you enhance the traffic flow to your website. Remember that when posting to these sites to include the URL of your website on any posts that you submit.
Don’t use Social Media Web 2 tools solely to gain more advertising. These resources are not ad boards and work through interaction between users and being social with each other. You should also show an avid interest in other users as they will then show an interest in what you have to offer.

Twitter is a fantastic way to drive traffic to your site. Article marketing is also a fantastic way to drive traffic to your websites as well. So, wouldn't it be great if you could combine the two and get the benefit out of both of them.
Well, now you can. EzineArticles.com is probably one of the best article directories online. And just today, I figured out that you can actually integrate your twitter account with your EzineArticles.com account.
Now, whenever you submit a unique article to EzineArticles.com and they approve it, it will automatically send out a tweet to your twitter account letting your followers know that you submitted a new unique article that was approved with a link to the actual article.
It does not get any better than that. If you want to integrate your twitter account with your EzineArticles.com account all you need to do is log into your account and go to profile manager, and then go to edit author Bio.
Once you get to the edit author bio screen all you need to do is enter your twitter information. It is as simple as that.
Now, every time EzineArticles.com publishes one of your unique articles, they will send out a tweet to your followers automatically. There is power in that system. Trust me, I know.
Now you are combining the power of both of these services. This results in one thing, massive traffic to your site. It never ceases to amaze me how EzineArticles.com stays on top of the game when it comes to article directories.

Twitter is a fantastic way to promote your products online. But, you need to make sure that you use the platform in the way it was intended to be used. That is to effectively communicate online with people. Most people try to get on this platform and just spam the heck out of it. Fortunately, that technique does not work at all.
If you want to use twitter to promote your products you need to go out there and build relationships. The better relationships you build the more people will buy your stuff. It is as simple as that.
If you communicate on twitter, twitter will reward you. But if you go and spam the platform you will get booted and no one will buy your stuff. And rightfully so. So, in order to use this platform to its full potential you need to actually get in there and add value to the community.
It is not hard to add value to the community. All you need to do is respond and talk about what you're doing. It is as simple as that. Instead of just going up and posting links about your site, post links about who you are.
Tell them how your day is going. When someone posts up a link to a picture of their family, respond to that person. Let them know your opinion. It is as simple as that.
Once you get that conversation going inside of twitter the possibilities are limitless. But, if you never get involved and you never get in that conversation, you're really going to miss out on the true power of twitter.
So, in essence what I'm talking about here is if you want to promote your products on twitter then you need to talk about other things other than your products. I know that might sound like an oxymoron, but it is so true. The more you talk about other things besides your product, the more of your product you will sell.
I've seen it over and over again. The more I talk outside of promotion the more I make on twitter. But if I try to concentrate on promoting on twitter, well it just really does not work out well. So, if you want to effectively promote your products on twitter, then you need to join the conversation and talk about other things other than your products.

One of the most common questions I get about twitter is what is the point of twitter? Well, at first I had a tough time explaining that to potential twitter users. But, the more I use it I can really tell you in detail what the point of twitter actually is. So, in this article I intend to do just that.
I want to share with you the power of twitter and why you should be using it in your marketing efforts.
First, twitter is a fantastic way to build relationships. Building relationships, in my opinion, is one of the most beneficial ways to build your business. If you're not building good relationships you are not building a strong business. So, in my opinion one of the great points about using twitter is the use of relationship building. You can really connect to your potential customer and client using this platform.
Next, it is a fantastic way to drive traffic. Twitter is a booming platform right now. Thousands upon thousands of people are starting to use twitter every day. So, you have the potential to connecting with thousands of people if you build your follower base. So, twitter is a fantastic way to drive traffic to your sites. But, twitter is not a platform that should be used for spam. Twitter is a platform that should be used to build relationships. And from those relationships will come traffic.
Finally, twitter is a great way to get sales. In the process of building relationships and driving traffic, the sales will follow. There is an old saying that that goes like this; people buy from people they know, like and trust. With twitter it makes it very easy for people to know, like and trust you. So, if you use twitter the right way, that is to build relationships, you will naturally get sales from twitter.
As you can see, I put the focus on building relationships when it comes to twitter. In my opinion, that is the point of using twitter. To build relationships. The more relationships you can build, the more money you will make using the twitter platform.

You have a business on the internet. You feel you sell good products or provide excellent services and now you just need to get the word out to everyone. You have already told your friends and family and hope they tell others as well, but what you really want is for your web traffic to take off sky high. The only problem is you do not have a large amount of cash to invest into a huge advertising campaign.
Regardless of all of that you are luck. The free technique I am about to tell you about will drive just as much traffic to your website as a paid one, if you are willing to put the time and effort in.
But before I get to that I have to say this. If your website is poorly designed or lacks simple navigation, any website traffic you do get will leave faster than they arrived. So make sure you find a good web developer to take a look and review your site before you begin this free marketing campaign to make sure you aren’t wasting your time and talent.
The free marketing technique I am talking about is called article marketing. This is the process where you write an informational and educational article related to the content of your website and submit that article to various article directories on the internet.
Let me explain in more detail. The first step is to write an article that is related to the content of your website. So let’s say you sell laptop computers. You can write an article reviewing the top five external hard drives, or how to keep your computer running fast and smooth. As you can see the article is related to computers and it provides useful information to the reader.
The next step is to create your resource box. A resource box is the area where you will tell the reader of the article a little about yourself and your website. An example resource box would be, “Jane Thompson is the owner of DEF Computer Systems, an online retailer of laptop computers. You can learn more about Ms. Thompson or DEF by visiting their website at {insert your web address here}.” This example clearly states who the writer of the article is, where they get their computer experience from and most importantly a clickable link the website.
With article and resource box in had it is time to submit this information to article directories. Article directories are websites dedicated to allowing website owners such as you to submit useful content. They receive tens of thousands of hits a day from people either looking to read useful information or would like to take this information and post it on their websites or blogs, a method called syndication. When they post your article on their own websites or blogs they do so with your resource box and the link to your website. As you can see if you wrote one quality article per day your website could be all over the internet in no time. I have personally helped friends who went from zero hits to over two thousand hits per day in less than thirty days, all for free!
Now that you know the technique, simply repeat this process everyday for as long as you are in business, which is hopefully a very long time. Add the Google Analytics tool to your website so you can track your visitors and find out where they are coming from and use this information to fine tune your articles and which article directories to use more often.

Write First
The real message on most websites is in the writing, and so it makes sense that the writing should determine the structure. Unfortunately, this is not the usual case. Most businesses choose the structure and design of their site first and then try and fit the writing around that structure. This flies in the face of commonsense. When you speak to someone, you structure your speech around your message, you don't decide on a structure then change the message to suit. So you need to plan what you want to say before you create the site. Maybe even write the whole thing first and then use the message to determine the structure.
When deciding what to write, think about what your customer wants to know rather than what you want to say. It's a subtle difference, but it is the key to engaging a potential customer.
Most customers will want to know the basics:
- What do you do?
- What benefit can you offer them?
- Why should they choose your service or product?
- What does it cost?
- How can they contact you?
- Where are you located?
Brevity & Clarity
Your website has to communicate a lot of information and to make matters worse, you are going to have limited space. Ideally, your customer won't have to scroll on any page (all your information will fit in a single window) and that single view will need to contain more than just words. The design and navigation elements take up about a third of a window, and you should leave a bit of room for white space (you don't want to overwhelm the customer). As a rule of thumb you should expect to have about half the window free for text.
How you are going to fit all your information in such a confined space? This is where writing skills come in - choose your words very carefully.
Websites can be an extremely powerful piece of marketing collateral. You can reach millions of potential customers for as little as a few hundred dollars. Unfortunately, your competitors are all doing the same thing - it's a level playing field but there are a lot of players.
It is important that your message is structured and well thought out, otherwise your site will be a mess and no-one will bother to read about your business. If your message is clear, your site will be simple and easy to use. It's all in the words.

how do you Market Your Site twice?
Simple...
Most of us typically promote www.yoursite.com. But what you need to realize is that most sites can be found on search engines simply by entering... http://yoursite.com - without the www.
Try it for a second, lets go to google and type in your url with the www. and then without the www.
So for me it would be:
1) www.smartads.info
2) http://smartads.info
The same will apply for sub-domains as well. A sub-domain is a section of your site dedicated to something you create but instead of residing within your normal directory, it resides within it's own directory, like I've illustrated below...
Normal:
www.yoursite.com
Sub-Domain:
http://sub-domain.yoursite.com
And with that again, you can promote your sub-domain twice in Search Engines like so...
1) www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
2) http://sub-domain.yousite.com
So in turn, I've just showed you how you can promote 4 sites with all the same goal in mind, yours of course!
How to utilize your new found knowledge:
Hopefully, you are all aware of how important it is to create a link exchange program for your business? Well, what you simply want to do is to mix up your links when submitting to other companies for a listing within their site.
In other words...
Lets say I just found 4 sites that I want to exchange links with, I would do something like this...
Site #1: I would submit (www.yoursite.com)
Site #2: I would submit (http://yoursite.com)
Site #3: I would submit (www.sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Site #4: I would submit (http://sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Now I'm promoting my site with 4 times the power than before!
But don't stop there...
Do you write articles? How about committing 2 of your links to every article. Change them up with each article.
Ex:
Article #1 (How to Submit Your Site to Search Engines)
Try adding
www.yoursite.com
www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
Article #2 (How to Market Your Site Twice)
Try adding
http://yoursite.com &
http://sub-domain.yoursite.com
I hope this small timbit of knowledge gives you the edge you need to put your business ahead of the game!
Best of luck to you!

These types of sites can be recognized by their one purpose. To list 100's, maybe 1000's of "One Line Ads" on all on one page.
What was the initial purpose?
A few years back when this form of promotion was very popular, everyone was posting their one line ads on these types of sites for more traffic to their site and a better "link popularity". It was soon realized that "FFA" sites don't do either.
How can adding a small, one line ad accompanied by 100's of others that isn't related to each other benefit you???
THEY CAN'T!
The only people they benefit are spammers...
Here's why!
Once you submit your one line classified ad, you automatically give the owners of the FFA sites to send you messages. At the same time, there are 1000's of marketers who are gathering your e-mail to do the very same thing.
FFA's are like being in heaven to spammers...
Honestly though, have you ever spent the time to visit a site from these lists?
Do you honestly want to ruin your e-mail just from posting one time??? I guarantee you that your inbox will be full within a matter of weeks.
On another note, Google is actively searching these FFA sites and penalizing them. They offer no use to visitors. Please do your business a favor, never list and FFA sites on your site, you might be subject to being penalized as well from Google.
Once that happens, you'll be spending most of your time trying to recover from the loss.
Best of luck to you!

You've worked so hard to get those great page ranks for all your pages and then you get rid of them? NO NO NO. It's the same reason why people buy "expired domains". Simply because before search engines, directories & web sites have a chance to notice there is no web site anymore, someone simply changes the site to fit their needs and utilizes the traffic coming in!
Let's say that you've made up your mind and you want to change the entire layout of your site. Before you do so, go through all your links and record the page rank that your pages have right now.
Ex.
Page 1 (PR 3/10)
Link: www.yoursite.com/page1
Page 2 (4/10)
www.yoursite.com/page2
Page 3 (2/10)
www.yoursite.com/directory/page3
Now I would look at those pages and utilize the pages that have a rank of (4/10) for my most important information when I consider the new layout. Doing so will automatically get my page listed under the new information within Google.
Typically, I don't usually re-use pages that have a rank of 2/10, 1/10, 0/10. Anything higher will be strongly considered.
This will help search engines to recognize, a) Yes the site has changed, b) we are familiar with the pages they are re-using.
People BOOKMARK pages all the time!
What if you deleted all your old pages and created some new ones what will happen to your visitors that have a bookmark for those old pages??? They are now left feeling like your site is down, deleted or doesn't exist anymore.
If you're going to discard some old links, try adding a "Page no longer exist" message to let your users know that you know about the problem and you are sorry for the inconvenience.
So when re-designing your entire site, don't be afraid to re-use those high ranking links you already have for your site.
Searching For All Your Pages Online:
If you're like me, and you have well over 500 pages listed in google, you'll want to go through google to see if you've missed any pages while performing changes on your site.
type in "www.yousite.com" in Google so that you get your main link. Don't forget the brackets.
You should see underneath your listing a link that states: "[ More results from www.smartads.info ]"
This will show you all the pages listed within Google. Take a moment to go through all the links found within Google and make sure that you've caught all your old, outdated pages and correct the problem accordingly.
Good luck with all your changes!

Search Engine Marketing is crucial for all companies who want to succeed online. I'm sure at one point or another, you will hear how "Optimizing your site for search engines is crucial". Of course, they aren't fooling you, it is a crucial marketing tactic but, what is also crucial is learning how to use different tools to boost your search engine placements once you've optimized your site for the web.
So let's talk about the marketing tactics available to you and implement strategies on how to promote all your pages within them.
LINK EXCHANGES:
Link popularity has become a norm for most small companies to implement in their daily promoting activities. Here's the problem, most companies that perform link exchanges daily fail to utilize it to their advantage. For ex. Let's say you perform approximately 10 link exchanges daily. For each one, you submitted your link "www.yoursite.com". What you'll want to start implementing is submitting 10 different links within your site.
Ex Link Exchanges:
Link #1: http://yoursite.com
Link #2: http://yoursite.com/resources
Link #3: http://www.yoursite.com/services
And so on...
A good strategy would be to open up "Note Pad" and create all the links you want to promote.
1) Add each link
2) Assign an appropriate title to each link
3) Create an appropriate description for each link
Now all you have to do is to copy and paste each link when performing your daily link exchanges.
WRITING ARTICLES:
Do you write articles to promote your site??? If you do, then you probably have created a "Resource Box" at the end of each article right??? Good, let's change the resource box a little.
My site is host to 100's of Marketing Articles and the 1 thing I notice time & time again is that each author (no disrespect to any of the wonderful authors) Typically only add the main page of their web site within their "resource box".
Ok, let's say you write articles about "Search Engine Marketing". At the end of the article, add a link to a page on your site that talks about "Search Engine Marketing" or something similar.
Ex. http://www.yoursite.com/search_engine_marketing.html
So with that in mind, try revising all your articles to point to specific pages on your web site.
DIRECTORY SUBMISSIONS:
Submitting your site to directories will give your site long lasting traffic. Not all directories will accept any link from your site besides the main page. This is ok though, there are literally 100's of other directories that will allow you to submit any page you want.
Experiment with this and try to change up all your links when your submitting to directories.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND : Using anything other than your main page for directories like: OPD Open Project Directory or Yahoo.
So now you have 3 proven marketing strategies on how to improve your search engine placements for all of your pages instead of only your main page. Be creative with this and look for more strategies you can implement this tactic with.

For instance, Google allows us to promote 2 url's, www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com
So ok. Nothing new...
Then why aren't you promoting the power Google gave to you?
See there's some of us who know that adding a link to both urls within our sites is a powerful thing. But what most of us don't know is that you can't just simply add both url's and expect good results!
You can't just want popcorn without popping the corn!
What you want to do is give 2 URL's and 2 Key Phrases. That's it, there it is! So if you promote your main page twice,
re: www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com
... Then you want to give Google 2 key phrases for both urls separately within your title tag.
Don't stop there though, try utilizing both key phrases respectively within your description tag, alt tags, H1 tags and within a portion of your text.
Here are the results of your efforts:
So the next time google searches your site, it now has more food then before and you actually didn't have to do too much. Your search terms have now doubled for 2 urls pointing to the same information.
Have fun with this and remember, search engines don't like spam tactics and neither do your visitors, so play safe and stick to the rules!
Best of luck to you!

re: www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com

Do not overly concern yourself with whether the site in question passes page rank however it is important to steer well clear of what are known as "bad neighbourhoods", these would include porn type sites etc.
So how do you obtain a link on all these websites? Well the simple answer is "in any that you can, apart from buying the links". Paid links is very much "last year" and you are risking receiving a Google penalty if you continue to purchase backward links in 2009 and beyond - it is not worth the risk!
The main ways of attracting backward links these days is via article marketing, blog posting, and social media and by writing testimonials for websites that are happy to include a link back to your website. Plus do not forget the power of quality content on your own website as this itself will generate backward links over the course of time.

If you've ever considered owning a successful network of web sites, you'll want to start paying close attention as to how your network affects your search positions.
Page Ranking is like an ocean "tide", it comes and goes and then comes back again, feeding a never ending sea of web site owners and keeping them on the shore to watch. What you want to notice is how owning a few "title waves" coming in, will drastically kill your page ranking but increase your search engine saturation.
If you haven't heard the term saturation before, it's merely referred to as the amount of links within your site that gets listed by search engines. So if you have 20 pages within your web site, you should have 20 pages listed in search engines.
If you don't have 20 pages listed, your search engine saturation is lower than it should be and you should concentrate on promoting ALL your pages, not just the main page of your site.
Personally owning a network of sites, and having worked on a network of 180 sites for one client, I've come to the conclusion that if you want to reach a 6/10 Google ranking, don't merely rely on your network to get success.
Like I mention in all my articles, search engines are getting smarter and can detect and sniff out a network of web sites created to help one thing, profit.
What you want to do is like I mentioned in a previous article, promote ALL your pages in as many web sites as you can. Find all related material to what you do.
Please don't get me wrong, owning a network is in no way harmful to have. The way a network will work successfully is by at least having one of your web sites already successful and the rest are tailing on it's success.
Trying to start an entire network from scratch is not only ludicrous, it would take a really good chunk of someone's budget just to make sure you would succeed in keeping up with the demand.
All too many times, I see people promote their site for a month or so, realize it's a lot of work and start neglecting it completely. Never give up on your dream, you only have one person to blame, yourself.
Start slow, start with one site. Expand it until you are ready to move onto another on-going project. Always remember that by starting another site within your network will not only bring you more responsibilities but it will be your responsibility to make sure this new web site is successful and that the old one isn't forgotten either.
So in conclusion:
Don't only rely on your network to bring your page ranking up and always look for new sources to improve on promoting all your pages.
Hope this helps all of you!

Compared to older more established sites out there, a brand new site without a network of well established web sites to back it up will need to depend on good quality links pointing to it. This will commence the search engine ranking strategy.
See most "grand father" sites out there have already gone through the trials and tribulations of getting recognized. Since this is true, they don't always have to depend on the "Title" of the link pointing to their site, nor do they have to depend on the "Title" tag within their site.
Now here's the [kicker]. Let's say Joe has been doing this for 2 years now, 9 times out of 10, if Joes web site is still promoting content about "Web Marketing", he probably doesn't have to add "Web Marketing" to his main title anymore. He can now add it further down within another link on his site.
So the moral is???
If your site is new, you'll need to depend on the "Titles" of many things to get your rankings up for something specific. If you're site is more mature and has been established, you can work on other search terms you've been longing to get for your site.
Just keep plugging away and try to keep your "titles" the same for new sites and mix it up for older sites!
I hope you enjoyed the article!

There are creative marketing strategies that you can implement so that you don't entirely loose your clients, you just need to keep them in the loop for when the time comes for them to buy.
"Marketing Online - Is about creative patience"
Being creative with your web marketing ventures is crucial but it doesn't necessarily react like print magazine ads or like newspaper press releases. No, it takes time for something to kick into full force.
This is why you should always keep on top of creating something new because, just like regular marketing, if you don't have another campaign ready to go when your done this one, you'll start to loose prospects on the way and create a slow period for your business.
You want your world online to consistently grow. Don't grow too quickly, just grow and keep growing with all your marketing efforts.
Here are some of the marketing strategies you can implement:
- Create an online newsletters
- Give something away for free
- Create online questionnaires
- Engage yourself into discussion groups
- Write helpful tips
- Create local resources for others
- Have a section of tips from others in your field
- Create a forum on your site
As you can see, these are all marketing strategies that ingage people in some way. The key is to create emotion through your visitors. Once you've engaged someone from your site, your site will be imprinted on their mind. It may take them a year to buy something from you but once in a while, maybe even weekly, they will keep coming back to your site.
The important thing to remember is that, eventually, we loose all of our visitors, even more important is to find marketing ventures that keep them coming back from time to time.
Just because someone saw your service today, doesn't mean that he/she is ready to buy what you are offering. Many people "Shop For Tomorrow". They like to browse around, see the options out there before they dig into their wallet.
I hope this article will spawn off some ideas for you!

- Substantial staying power
- Repetitive marketing
- Your listing grows with the entire site
- No updating unless necessary
- Not necessary to link back to the directory
Please Note: This article is meant to discuss and implement marketing strategies for local business directories online, not link exchange, a.k.a swapping links with other websites.
For many people, one/two directories always come to mind,
- http://dir.yahoo.com
With web marketing, you want to have ever lasting staying power, online directories can provide you with this and more.
Many people who DO NOT use the internet everyday stick with the basics when they come online. Many people are usually looking for a specific service or product that they want to check up on within their local community. This is why it is so crucial that you get noticed locally online.
Every major city has at least one or two good business directories for you to submit your business to. Many of these directories don't even require that you have a website.

Tips on how to find local directories online:
How To Prepare For Directory Submissions
Targeting Regional & International:

Advertising With Your Own Resources:
If you reprint articles on your site, you could use those articles to advertise your business. The reason you do this is simple, adding articles on your site is going to increase your traffic, right? Then once your articles start to get good traffic from search engines on their own, people will come into your site directly from that article. You want to make sure they know who's hosting this article. This is a great time to start promoting specials that you may have.
Consider Yourself Your Best Advertiser:
Do you host a resource directory? Maybe your company does link swapping, maybe you just like to give your visitors some great resource websites within your industry. Always make sure that your link is above the rest. Make sure that your company is listed #1. It doesn't even have to be about your front page only. Be creative, spice up what you list within your own resource listings.
The Whole Point Is This:
Many of your resource pages are going to get traffic directly from elsewhere. Just because these resources are on your site isn't enough exposure for your business. You want to advertise as much as possible for yourself without being too pushy or offensive.
Banner Advertising Was Never Dead:
For a long time, they said that banner advertising was dead. Some still do. I said then and I still say now, banner advertising works as long as it's implemented properly. Adding a small banner above all your articles and resource directories isn't a bad thing. Adding 5 on one page can be somewhat excessive and too pushy. Try creating banners that relate to the resources in mind. This will in turn create an additional resource for search engines and visitors.
Your Homework:
Sometime tonight, right now even, take a peek at your website again and look for areas in which you can add a small piece of advertising for your business. If you don't have any resources, shame on you, create something right away and implement some advertising for yourself.
Till Next Time, Stay Creative & Grow Every Day!
Bottom line is no one is here to hold your hand. We can only sit back and watch to see what you feel is appropriate to present your business, your family name, and your honor. Improving your site brings greatness to your work. If not now, maybe later.
My Promise To You:
If you improve your entire site tonight, tomorrow will be a great day for your business. It will have undergone a well deserved face lift that brought life into the picture. You will feel better about yourself and where you are going.
I hope you enjoyed the article.

Analyzing Is Over Ratted:
As we all have our own methods to base our success online, we also have to make sure that we don't forget the fact that the more we analyze, the less we promote.
Does This Sound Like You?
- I like to re-check on a daily/hourly basis my Google search engine placements!
- I go to Alexa.com everyday to see if my ranking has gone up/down!
- I check my link popularity once a week, maybe once a day!
- I check to see how many backlinks Google rewards my site!
- I double check my site stats to see if the GoogleBot has been crawling on my site!
If this sounds like you, you might want to re-think how much you are actually contributing to your search marketing efforts.
See most people want to see their efforts being rewarded right away while loosing sight of the real agenda on hand. If you keep promoting and forget to check your rankings, placements, etc, when you actually remember to check your stats, you will be in for a huge surprise!!!
It's better to explain it like this. Have you ever had a moment that seems like 1 minute took an eternity? On the flip side of that, have you ever had an entire afternoon seem like it flew past and you didn't notice the time?
It's the same online. If you sit there and watch that minute go by, it will seem like an eternity to pass and nothing will have been accomplished. On the other hand, if you keep promoting your site daily and never pay too much attention to your stats, minutes will seem like seconds and hours will seem like minutes. You want to be too busy to even care about your stats. If you can accomplish that, you will see the rewards you've been after all along.
I Don't Know Where To Go From Here?
- Start finding better link partners.
- Make contact with other like mended companies.
- Swap services and advertising with others.
- Read more articles about promoting online.
- Join blog sites or forums to expand your knowledge.
- Write an article, or an ebook.
- Find good directories to submit your business to.
There are literally 100's of ways to improve your search marketing strategy online. What I always say to everyone is this; "Web marketing isn't just one thing you can do, it's a combination of 100 different strategies all coming together and pooling into one web site."
In Conclusion:
Try and stay away from ANY stat whatsoever for 1 week and promote your business. At the end of the week, check to see if your progress is working. If not, learn new strategies and again, promote your site for another week. At the end of the week, check your progress. If you keep to this method of checking your progress, you are guaranteed to see different results every week as long as you promote your business once a day. It doesn't take much sometimes, it may only be 20 minutes a day that makes all that difference in your online promoting campaign.
Until next time, keep promoting!

So why are they important?
The reason link exchanges are important ranges from your traffic quality to your search engine position. This method of traffic building is 100% free and this always fits nicely into any website's budget. It just requires dedication and time to build up quality links with other sites. By taking the time to sniff out links that relate to you and sites that are legit can have some huge payoffs.
First, it will increase your link popularity which is the search engines counting up how many times it finds your link on other websites. This act of counting up the links or otherwise known as a "Link Popularity Check" will increase your position based on the amount of links it finds. A nice tool to check your popularity can be found here.
Your Link Popularity Rating is a combination of:
* The Number Of Sites Linking To You
* The Words That Are Used To Describe Your Site In The Links To You
* The Relevance Of Those Sites As They Relate To Your Subject Matter
* The Link Popularity Of The Sites That Link To You
* The Search Engine Rankings Of The Sites That Link To You
Secondly, the visitors that come from related websites are highly targeted and you've a much better chance of selling them your product or service since they've come to your site through a link on a related website. The logic behind this is simple they came from a site that had a theme related to yours. So we can make the assumption that they are interested in your product or service. So hand picking who you should exchange with should be very clear now.
Link Exchange Services
I am sure you have all seen the ads before that go something like "Get 1000's of backlinks to your site!"These services really do not work well. They are designed to include all of its members links to be seen on your website. Some places have filters we you can specify the content based on the category another member might have placed themselves in. There are a few reasons this is really bad. One reason is that any member can put themselves in any category so the filter system can be comprimised quite easily. Another reason is these services are not worth it is that you can find alot higher qaulity sites by simply searching. Again, this can be time consuming but in the end it is worth it. All these members are sites looking for shortcuts and are typically not well ranked in search engines anyway so why would you want to be on these sites anyway? Finally, why would you pay for something that is free?! You can contact everyone of these webmasters and build a mutual relationship instead of going through a middle man and paying a premium on top of that.
Can Link Exchanges Hurt Me?
A very common misconception about link exchanges is "The more links you have the higher you will be ranked." While part of this is very accurate, we must understand that the worng types of links can do more harm then good. You would do well to avoid participating in link farms (FFA, or free-for-all link lists that you can add your site to), the reason to stay away form this is because these have become recognized by the search engines, and by Google's anti-spam algorithm specifically, as red flags for spam - and can often get your site banned from their index. And it makes sense - if you have thousands of non-relevant links pointing to your site, that does not say much about the legitimacy of your content. Major search engines have begun to aggressively penalize web sites that are deemed to be engaged in such linking strategies.
Do Reciprocal Links Still Work?
Well the bottom line is if they did not work this article would not have been written. But with that said it is a known fact that reciprocal links are NOT as effective as they used to be. This does not mean abandon ship as many other webmasters have done. This just means they do not play the same role as they used to. They do however have the long term effect and can still bring you a bunch of targeted traffic at no cost to you. The biggest claim on the net as far as link popularity and links are concerned is "one way links" work better then reciprocal links. Here is the difference between the two, if you link to another web site and the other web site links back to you, it's a reciprocal link. If you link to another web site and the other web site doesn't link back to your site, it's a one way link. One way links obviously are harder to find and usually cost some money to have.
Conclusion
The moral of the story is this: reciprocal links although not as effective as they used to be are still effective enough to warrant the time and effort to create the relationship with other websites. One must be very picky about one's site selection and keeping the content related to your site is a must. One way links are seen by search engines as more important then reciprocals but again you will most likely end up paying for these. Adapting to the times is no surprise when dealing with the web, so you must ask yourself "what is my competitor thinking in regards to link exchanges?" The answer is they are building them up related to their content. So by you not keeping up with the times you simply fall short in the long run. There are no short cuts in reciprocal or one way linking unless you have deep pockets to shell out money on expensive text links on high ranked sites. So the next best option is to dedicate the time and effort to your site. If it wasn't this way the internet would be useless and we would never be able to find what we are looking for. Its just a fact of life and we must keep on keeping on in respects to linking.
